The City of Portage is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Multimedia Specialist to join our Office of Public Information! If you're passionate about digital storytelling, video production, and community engagement, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and manage digital content for social media, websites, newsletters, and public information campaigns.
- Produce engaging video content for social media, the city website, and cable access channels.
- Capture and edit photos to document key events and enhance city communications.
- Plan and produce podcast episodes to share important city updates and community stories.
- Assist with event planning, including public meetings, ribbon cuttings, and outreach events.
What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, multimedia design, journalism, graphic design, marketing, public relations, or a related field and 2-5 years of experience in multimedia production with a strong portfolio, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Public sector or non-profit experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar video, photo, and audio editing tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for occasional night or weekend assignments.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Work On-site
