SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER - PARKS, BALLFIELDS AND PLAYGROUNDS
Parks, Playgrounds and Ballfields Seasonal Groundskeepers – Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department
Parks, Athletic Facilities, and Playgrounds Division - May through November full-time schedule (up to 40 hours/week - flexible schedules and reduced hours can be considered) and could include mornings, afternoons, weekends, and nights starting in early spring.
We are seeking hardworking and reliable individuals to join our team as Seasonal Groundskeepers for parks, playgrounds, and ballfields. In this role, you will ensure that these recreational spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained for the community. If you enjoy working outdoors, have an eye for detail, and take pride in creating great spaces for people to gather and play, we would love to have you as part of our team this season!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mowing & trimming fields and parks
- General playground maintenance
- Opening/closing facilities
- Turning on/off light systems, and setting up fields for events.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Parks and/or athletic experience preferred but not required.
- Responsibility, maturity, dedication and the ability to work in varied weather conditions are a must.
- Applicants for Groundskeeper positions can be 16 or 17 years old but with certain work restrictions.
- A valid Maine Class C driver’s license is preferred, and a Department of Motor Vehicle check will be conducted on those who have one

Hourly Rate
$18.00/hr.
