Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Alternate schedule may be available after probationary period.
Work Location: The current schedule for this position is hybrid. Employees are expected work on site 50% of the time. The City is reevaluating a return-to-office (RTO) policy which could change in-person requirements with notice. The hiring manager for this position will have more up to date information at the time of all verbal/contingent offers. In-person work will be conducted at 1900 SW 4th Avenue, Portland, OR. In this role, you will:
- Determine conformity with land use and public utility laws and regulations;
- Prepare oral and written staff recommendations;
- Interact in person and on the phone with members of the public, developers, internal and external groups and committees, and stakeholders representing diverse interests
- Represent the Bureau in city-wide or regional planning efforts;
- Work with local, state and federal regulators to understand and respond to regulatory conditions and opportunities identified in the Portland area.
- Work to resolve concerns and differences among competing interests and issues; and
- Communicate detailed technical information to a variety of internal and external customers.

- Experience with land use planning; water resources, wastewater, stormwater, infrastructure, hydrology, and/or watershed management planning and policy.
