Gym / Field supervisors play a vital role in providing recreational and social experiences in Post Falls. Supervisors are primarily responsible for providing a safe, helpful, clean environment for recreation program volunteers, participants, and spectators, through a variety of duties, to fulfill the department mission : "Provide exceptional services, facilities and opportunities to our customers and citizens."
Gym / Field supervisors will gain in human relation skills and teamwork, leadership and training opportunities, and practice in critical problem solving, under the general direction of a Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor.
Examples of Work Duties
- Survey location, including parks and school grounds, to ensure that facilities are safe and ready for use and securely closed at program end.
- Assist facility users / staff with program set-up and track use of equipment.
- Communicate expectations of facility rules, policies / guidelines to participants, parents or community members, and report disruptive behavior to appropriate staff.
- Address cleanliness of building / field before, during and after programs.
- Attend to injuries or incidents, providing assistance, or first aid, if necessary.
- Accurately complete City / Department forms for review and action
- Work effectively to complete assignments and adapt to changing circumstances as necessary.
