Class Specifications

The primary function of an employee in this class is to set up for and officiate at designated sports. The position is under the direct supervision of a Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Coordinator, although some latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of the position are performed in a public sports field environment.

Examples of Work Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Sets up equipment for and officiates at designated athletic games;
• Supervises competition, including spectators and participants, during events;
• Cleans up and closes facility after events;

Performs all work duties and activities in accordance City policies, procedures and safety practices.

Other Duties and Responsibilities :

Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of :

Dispute mediation and resolution.

Ability to :

Acceptable Experience and Training

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Special Qualifications

Satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Essential Physical Abilities

Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate timing and scorekeeping equipment;
