This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including supporting park operations, providing customer service, ensuring park rules and regulations are followed, assisting with facility maintenance, and promoting a positive visitor experience. This position requires a flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach to ensure the park operates smoothly and efficiently.Working Schedule : Full-time and 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, especially during peak park visitation periods or events. Duties and Responsibilities Regularly patrol park areas, including parking lots, picnic areas, trails, restrooms, and recreational spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality.Conduct routine inspections of park facilities to ensure they are in good working order. Report any issues such as broken equipment, damaged infrastructure, or unsafe conditions to park management for resolution.Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, giving directions, and offering information about park amenities, events, and safety protocols. Ensure visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience. Handle complaints or conflicts from park visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Work to resolve issues on the spot, escalating to park management when necessary.Monitor visitor activities to ensure compliance with park rules, such as noise ordinances, littering regulations, and appropriate use of park facilities. Address minor violations politely and inform visitors of park policies.Support daily operations including but not limited to opening, closing and light maintenance of park facilities, event and program support and parking management.During large events or busy periods, assist with managing crowds, directing foot traffic, and ensuring park rules and safety guidelines are followed.Be prepared to respond to minor medical emergencies or accidents by providing basic first aid when needed. Assist in directing emergency services to the correct location in case of more serious incidents.Maintain accurate logs of park activities, visitor concerns, and maintenance issues.Assist park management with reporting and tracking park conditions. Typical Qualifications Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED and four years of related experience.ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.Licensing / CertificationsValid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.Preferred QualificationsCPR and First Aid certification.Additional training in parks and recreation or a related field is a plus.Prior experience in park operations.
