Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline and termination procedures.
- Plans, organizes, and directs comprehensive recreational programs and inclusion services for individuals with disabilities, including camps, outing, and other general recreational programs and services.
- Continually plans, researches, and develops the different aspects of programming for SRIS. Also oversees guidelines and materials for the program to ensure successful implementation of programs and compliance with safety / risk management policies.
- Develop, manage, and oversee multiple budgets, including facility and program-specific budgets, ensuring accurate revenue projections, appropriate fund allocation, and fiscal responsibility to support program goals and operational needs
- Works with community partners, statewide agencies and other advocates to bolster efforts and supports for individuals with disabilities.
- May provide coordination and facilitation of accreditation process for department
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation, business or public administration, five years of professional recreational programming and / or parks or facilities management experience and two years of supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
