Position Overview
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC
Under general supervision, provides basic telecommunications system and desktop support for business class telecommunications, computers and peripheral devices; coordinates and completes service orders; arranges repairs with contractors and vendors; trains users and maintains user accounts; and does related work as required.
The duties listed below are examples of the work typically performed by employees in this class. An employee may not be assigned all duties listed and may be assigned duties which are not listed below.
Education And/or Experience
High school graduation or G.E.D. is required and related college-level coursework, technical training, and/or certification in computer or telecommunications technology and/or one year of user support and telecommunications computer technology experience is highly desirable involving business class computers and peripheral equipment.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Business class telecommunications equipment knowledge in, computers and peripheral equipment features, services, and applications; computer terminology; computer installation, troubleshooting and repair techniques; desktop hardware and software; user account administration techniques; information technology resources, Windows and Apple based software, and hardware commonly used by City departments.
Research and assist users with technology applications and questions and solve technical problems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors, vendors, and management; organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; install, operate, trouble-shoot, and resolve problems involving telecommunications, computers and peripheral devices.

- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
- Fulfills work orders working with staff, interns, contractors, and vendors.
- Installs, trouble-shoots, and administers business class telecommunications and elements of desktop support applications and services including but not limited to, setting up hardware, installing software, troubleshooting and resolving computer connectivity and peripheral equipment problems.
- Handles questions related to MS Office software.
- Coordinates service and warranty repairs with contractors and vendors.
- Resolves billing and contract questions related to the ordering and status of hardware components and purchase orders.
- Makes recommendations to Technology staff on telecommunications plans and needs based on user interfaces.
- Trains employees and volunteers in the functionality and specialized uses and applications of business class telecommunications devices including but not limited to office telephone systems, cellular and smart phones authorized to be used to conduct City business.
- Coordinates moves and facilitates seamless transitions for employees.
- Updates hardware inventory, tracking devices and updating user accounts.
- Supports wireless technology used for City business, including ordering and activating phones and setting up user administration addresses.
Education And/or Experience
