The Solid Waste Operator I or II primarily operates in the areas of the Solid Waste Material Recovery Facility (MRF) but can be utilized in the Landfill, and/or Collections as needed.

The Solid Waste Operator I or II primarily operates in the areas of the Solid Waste Material Recovery Facility (MRF) but can be utilized in the Landfill, and/or Collections as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solid Waste Operator I:
- Operates solid waste equipment such as skid steer, and forklift.
- Must perform duties to standard operations and safety defined by each appropriate equipment manufacturer and industry standards; reads and interprets appropriate instructions and/or plans.
- Performs hands-on sorting of recyclable material.
- Performs essential maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
- May perform snow removal/sanding operations.
- May perform duties outside of the MRF department as needed.
- Perform hands-on sorting of recyclable material.
- Operates solid waste equipment such as front-end loader; semi-truck tractor and walking floor trailer; baler; dano drums; skid steer; forklift; roll-off truck; and/or container delivery truck.
- Must perform duties to standard operations and safety defined by each appropriate equipment manufacturer and industry standards; reads and interprets appropriate instructions and/or plans.
- Assures all operations are in compliance with all regulatory permit requirements and regulations.

Solid Waste Operator I:
- Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED) and
- One year of related experience and/or training.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
Solid Waste Operator II:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and
- Two years of related experience and/or training.
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or Class B with airbrakes.
Salary : $23 - $26
