What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Coordinator position at City of Redlands?
- Plans, coordinates, assigns, and supervises work of staff in the areas of recreation;
- Assists in the recommendation and implementation of goals and objectives;
- Implements policies and procedures and ensures adherence to polices and procedures;
- Evaluates operations and activities in assigned area;
- Assists in the selection and training of staff and works with staff to correct deficiencies, implements discipline procedures as necessary;
- Provides input into budget preparation and assists with budget administration;
- Recommends and implements new programs;
- Prepares program and event publicity, including news releases, flyers, pamphlets, and brochures;
- Maintains accurate records and prepares reports;
- Responds to inquiries from the public and handles difficult questions and situations; and
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Four years of experience in coordinating recreation and/or community services programs.
- Some leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- College level coursework in business administration, marketing, communication, public administration, or a related field. An Associate's degree is desirable. For degrees completed outside of the U.S. and official equivalency evaluation is required.
- Possession and maintenance of an appropriate valid California driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
- Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates at time of hire.
Essential functions and duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:
- Ability to work in a standard office environment; ability to travel to different sites and locations;
- Regularly required to talk or hear. Required to stand and walk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms;
- Regularly required to sit; occasionally required climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds;
- Exposure to outdoors, heat and noise;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays and weekends.

Salary : $60,265 - $73,253
