Camp programs run from June 23 – August 29, 2025, with exact weeks varying depending on your camp assignment. Paid training will take place on Saturday, June 7 (Farrel-McWhirter Park), and from June 16-18 and June 20, 2025 (all camps). Attendance at training is mandatory, and we encourage you to apply if you're able to participate in these training dates!  Applications will be reviewed and considered as they are received.

  • Plan, organize, and implement camp activities including but not limited to arts & crafts, science experiments, sports, organized games, songs, nature walks, and storytelling. 
  • Be actively involved with children and engaged in recreational activities, at all-times. 
  • Work closely with others in an enthusiastic, cooperative, and supportive manner. 
  • Set boundaries and enforce good decision making. 
  • Perform emergency First Aid and CPR as needed and according to established guidelines, providing for the proper safety of participants in recreational programs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Note: Some positions may include driving a 15-passenger van.

 

Day Camp Counselor – 10 positions

  • Work as part of a team in an indoor/outdoor setting with children ages 6-15. 
  • Minimum of 16 years of age. 
  • Positions available at Farrel-McWhirter Park, the Old Fire House Teen Center, and other locations in Redmond.

 

Day Camp Director – 1 position

  • Oversee Day Camps. 
  • Additional duties include planning daily activities, assisting with training and scheduling of staff and volunteers. Organizing and purchasing supplies, holding weekly staff meetings, covering staff lunch breaks, subbing for camp staff as needed, managing paperwork including reporting incidents, communicating with participants, parents, and staff, assisting with administrative duties in the office, and other duties as assigned. 
  • Minimum of 21 years of age. 
  • Position available at Old Fire House Teen Center

Assistant Day Camp Director – 1 position

  • Assist with overseeing Day Camps. 
  • Additional duties include planning daily activities, assisting with training and scheduling of staff and volunteers. Organizing and purchasing supplies, holding weekly staff meetings, covering staff lunch breaks, subbing for camp staff as needed, managing paperwork including reporting incidents, communicating with participants, parents, and staff, assisting with administrative duties in the office, and other duties as assigned. 
  • Minimum of 21 years of age. 
  • Position available at Old Fire House Teen Center


Inclusion Specialist – 2 positions 

  • Work with children with disabilities ages 4 – 15 by offering support and making program modifications to integrate participants into traditional day camp settings. 
  • Experience working with children with disabilities preferred. 
  • Minimum of 18 years of age, must have a current driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area.

 

Substitute – Up to 4 positions

  • Assist as needed on an on-call basis throughout the summer. 
  • Must have a current driver's license, an insurable driving record, and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area.

 

Full and part-time supplemental (non-benefited) positions available and range from 8 to 11-week assignments. Please note: All positions are dependent on programs meeting minimum enrollment. If programs are canceled, staff will not be scheduled to work. 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age by starting date
  • Education or training in recreation area directly related to specific position or program
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
  • Successful passing of a required background check

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets city standards preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Some positions may require special licenses, certifications or training

  • Please note on your cover letter when you will be in the Redmond area (if you are an out-of-town student).  
  • Applicants who are invited to participate in the interview process will be notified by telephone or email. 
  • Candidates hired for 2025 seasonal work will have the following onboarding days to choose from:

    • Thursday, May 29th
    • Wednesday, June 4th
    • Thursday, June 5th
    • Wednesday, June 11th
    • Thursday, June 12th
