The Public Works Department is responding to the growing needs of the City as we are actively implementing a new concrete replacement program, generously funded by the newly created Transportation Benefit District (TBD). We are seeking to hire one Concrete Maintenance Technicians with heavy equipment operating experience to join our dedicated team in our Public Works Department.

Note: This role will work a 4 x 10 schedule

In addition, the role will also be responsible for the following:
- Maintain, repair or replace damaged sidewalks, trails and pathways
- Operation of mini excavator for demolition of existing sidewalk, curbs, and ADA ramps
- Maintain work order records and track program progress
- Construct missing segments of sidewalk or new assets as requested
- Assist utilities with projects impacting assets in the sidewalk or curb and gutter areas
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
- Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year construction or trades experience.
Licenses and Certificates
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets City standards.
- Additional licenses and certificates that may be required depending on the area in which incumbent is assigned:
- CDL, Class A or B; may need air brakes and/or tanker endorsement;
- Washington State Department of Transportation Flagging Certification;
- First Aid/CPR;
- Signs and Markings Level I certification;
- Pesticide Operators License;
- WWCPA 1 or 2 (desirable)
- WDS or WDM 1 (desirable)
Note: If applicant does not have a CDL, must be willing to acquire CDL provided by the City of Redmond

Offers of employment are conditional based on the candidate successfully passing both background and reference checks. Internal candidates are subject to passing a new background if the previous check was conducted more than six months ago.
Additionally, new hires relocating to the area are required to have Washington State residency within 30 days of their start date to comply payroll tax purposes.
