Are you looking for a fun summer job? The City of Redondo Beach is looking for cashiers for Seaside Lagoon!
The Cashier position primarily assist with the cashiering function at Seaside Lagoon as well as helps out with other required duties. Seaside Lagoon operates seasonally from May through October of each year.
This is a temporary, non-benefitted, at-will part-time position. This post is continuous, and may close at any time without notice. Prompt application is encouraged. Only those applicants selected for follow-up will receive notifications beyond application submission.
The duties for this part-time position will include the following: Participating in staff trainings and meetings, promoting the program, recruiting participants, keeping accurate records, handling discipline issues, ensuring participant safety, and planning, organizing, leading, and supervising daily playground activities for children ages 6 – 12 years old. Playground activities include but are not limited to group games, sports, arts and crafts, special events and contests.
Additional duties will include compliance with COVID-19 guidelines and protocols issued by local, county and state authorities and public health officials. These protocols may include cleaning, disinfecting surfaces and touch points, wearing PPEs, physical distancing, leading small stable groups (pods), monitoring staff and participant health checks, and other measures to keep participants and employees safe.
Employees may also be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired education and/or experience:
Preferably some college credit in related field of study; experience working with children; experience leading recreation programs, and leadership skills.
Applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years old to apply

- Possess a valid California Driver's License

- Temporary, part-time (PT), non-exempt (hourly), at-will position
- Salary at $15.00/hr. to $17.00/hr. depending on qualifications
The selection process may include but is not limited to: application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test and interview. All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidate's legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process, such as: reference check, background investigation, fingerprint criminal history check, post-offer drug test, post-offer psychological and post-offer medical examination, the cost of which will be borne by the City.
