Job Title: Enforcement of Municipal Ordinances and Infrastructure Construction
Primary Purpose: To ensure enforcement of municipal ordinances, specifications, and codes pertaining to certain aspects of the regulations of infrastructure construction.

Work Environment: Works in a general office environment with regulated heating and cooling and outdoor environment on inspections. May be exposed to extreme weather, dust or pollen, toxic fumes, chemicals or smoke, contagious diseases, electrical or mechanical hazards and extreme noise.
Primary Purpose: To ensure enforcement of municipal ordinances, specifications, and codes pertaining to certain aspects of the regulations of infrastructure construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial public infrastructure installation and enforces all aspects of applicable building and zoning codes and ordinances.
- Read and interprets construction plans, sketches, maps, surveys, and legal descriptions.
- Inspect pre and post construction erosion and sediment control measures.
- Issue citations related to violations of the construction specifications, ordinances, and related regulations.
- Assists the BUILDS Department in enforcement of related zoning violations and design standards.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in building and/or construction inspection or closely related field.
- Familiarity with relevant building regulation and codes (IBC, IRC, etc..)
- Working knowledge of modern construction techniques and ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
