What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concession Attendant position at City of Republic?
Primary Purpose
Performs general concession duties including cashier responsibilities, serving persons with available concessions, and providing a sanitary working environment.
Supervision
Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Park Supervisors and Aquatics Administrator, or as assigned.
- Serves and greets customers promptly and with a smile.
- Collects money and makes proper change for transactions.
- Responsible for inventory of concession products by always keeping them in stock.
- Responsible for keeping the assigned food and drink area up to current Health Code, including but not limited to cooking and preparing menu items properly, performing routine cleaning duties, etc.
- Completely fills out all concession forms properly as required.
- Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the general public.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attends training sessions as deemed appropriate by the Aquatic Administrator.
- Maintains the appropriate supplies for assigned area.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Education & Experience
Prior experience working in a related position is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to computer terminals and cash registers. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have a working knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, & procedures governing the facility, and have the confidence to enforce them when appropriate. Must be able to add and subtract to perform accurate cash transactions. Must prioritize maintaining a safe work environment for both patrons and fellow staff. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team dynamic. Must be alert and possess the cognitive skills to urgently analyze and make responsible decisions under pressure.

Special Requirements
Must be at least 15 years old to apply.
Must either have a valid Missouri State Driver’s License or reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
Performs bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead; Must be able to reach, grip and hold; Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 60 pounds.
Work Environment
Mostly in an outdoor working environment with exposure to dust and pollen, toxic fumes, chemicals or smoke, contagious diseases, electrical and mechanical hazards associated with equipment, extreme noise; Subject to variety of extreme weather condition; Susceptible to safety hazards associated with working in and around high traffic volume; May work in confined places and awkward positions.
Miscellaneous Requirements
- Will be required to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Subject to emergency call-in.
- Must be a dependable person due to the small size of the work force.
- May be subject to random substance abuse testing.
