Rialto is a growing and thriving community with a strong economic engine. Rialto is served by two interstates, a large regional railroad terminal, a Metrolink line and station, and OmniTrans bus routes. The City is home to several major distribution centers including Amazon, Medline, Niagra, Monster Energy, Staples, Under Armor, and Pyro Spectacular.
About the Position
The City is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its next City Manager. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility in a tradition of quality public service, a history of civic involvement, innovative solutions, and a track record of accomplishments. The successful candidate will proactively engage with the Community and the City Council to develop and provide progressive and innovative initiatives for the City Council’s discussion and consideration to meet the changing needs of the community while advancing the goals and priorities of the City Council. The next City Manager will have a reputation of being a confident leader with a proven track record of fostering professional relationships with the community.
Education/Training
The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A Master’s degree in public administration or business administration is highly desirable. Seven years of responsible experience in municipal government including executive leadership experience in a comparable, diverse and complex urban city. Prior City Manager experience is desirable. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred. Knowledge of and experience in California local government is highly desirable. The City Council reserves the right to select any combination of experience, education and work history that will provide the highest level of service to the City Council, the organization, and the community.
Compensation/Benefits
The starting salary will be based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The City also offers a generous benefits package.
