Hiring Salary: $18.17/ hour
Location: Richmond Hill, GA
Department: Richmond Hill Police Department
Schedule: 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday Every Other Weekend/ 6am to 6pm
JOB SUMMARY- Records Technician
This position performs technical duties in the maintenance of department records.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Enters crime, incident and accident reports; distributes to appropriate departments or individuals; maintains related files.
- Enters traffic and non-traffic citations; distributes to appropriate courts.
- Prepares reports as requested by the court.
- Assists in entering and retrieving information to and from department databases; shelves and retrieves manual records.
- Seals records upon receipt of court orders.
- Receives payment for fines, bond payments, report copies, alarm registrations, etc.; maintains related records.
- Makes copies of reports for citizens, insurance companies and others as appropriate.
- Maintains impound records.
- Assists with court sessions as needed.
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
- Delivers mail and warrants to officers and coworkers.
- Issues Alcohol Beverage Cards as requested.
- Performs criminal history checks as needed.
- Types reports, letters, memoranda, and other materials.
- Assists in training new employees.
- Performs related duties.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited institution
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in administrative functions.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification.
