The City of Richmond’s Office of Community Wealth Building is seeking detail-oriented and proactive applicants to fill the role of Management Analyst, Sr. (Budget and Grants) to play a critical role in supporting the OCWB finance team with annual budgets, identifying potential funding opportunities, assisting with the preparation and submission of grant proposals, and manage awarded grants - monitor, track and report on the progress of funded projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgetary constraints, and grant conditions, coordinate with internal division leaders to gather necessary information and documentation for grant reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
This position will have responsibilities that include assisting with the coordination of OCWB’s grant portfolio which includes the American Rescue Plan Act, AmeriCorps, the Comcast/US City of Mayors, Safer Communities, and the Virginia Department of Social Services Sole Source grants, etc.
- Work with the grants team to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the agency’s goals.
- Maintain an updated database of funding sources and grant opportunities,
- Coordinate and oversee grant activities.
- Facilitate reimbursement requests and ensure timely submission to funders.
- Facilitate collaboration among community-based organizations, the City of Richmond, and other stakeholders.
Budget and Grant Proposal Preparation and Submission
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and grant proposals, ensuring compliance with City practices, funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information and documentation for proposals.
Submit completed proposals through appropriate channels and maintain records of submissions.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to leadership and funders as required.
- Oversee project progress and track expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Maintain organized records of all grant-related documentation, including proposals, contracts, and correspondence.
- Assist in the evaluation of grant-funded projects and compile findings for internal and external reporting.
- Track progress on grant objectives, tasks, and deliverables.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the direct supervisor and director.
- Attend relevant training and workshops to stay informed about best practices in grant writing and management.
- Address any issues or obstacles promptly to ensure project success.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, or a related field
- Experience in grant writing, grant management, or nonprofit administration is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
- Proven experience in grant coordination, project management, or a related role
- Excellent organizational, communication, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with community-based organizations
- Three years of journey-level professional experience in grant writing or grant management
- Knowledge of Federal, State and/or Local government grant processes
- Familiarity with the Richmond area and its communities
