What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Baseball/Softball Umpire position at City of Rifle?
Job Summary:
This is a seasonal position that is responsible for umpiring adult softball games at the Deerfield Park complex.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Officiate and control games, events, and comply with game rules and assess penalties when needed.
Ensure all participants understand and comply with game rules and assess penalties when needed.
Make game calls with confidence and knowledge of league rules.
Make sure that teams have appropriate equipment and inspect both players and equipment for any issues.
The umpire will arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled game time.
Verifies that you have all the equipment needed for the game.
Warns and then ejects fans/players that do not follow the rules and fills out paperwork and report.
The umpire will talk to each coach before the game and review any ground rules, unusual circumstances or local field hazards.
The umpire will approach his/her position as a representative of Rifle Parks and Recreation, displaying respect for the facility, participants, parents, and co-workers.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
May Travel to various City offices and sites to perform work.
Experience and Training:
Minimum Education: No minimum education required.
Job Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must pass a background check with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle
This is a part-time, seasonal position, beginning summer of 2024. The wage for this position is $40 per game.
Salary : $40
