The City of Steamboat Springs is hiring a Softball Umpires for the 2025 season!
This position begins early June and extends through mid-August with opportunity for additional hours in the fall. Umpiring opportunities will be available during City league play on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights throughout the Summer. Hours of umpiring range from 5:30pm – 10:30pm each evening. Knowledge of the game of softball is preferred but not necessary. Pre-season trainings will assist in familiarity of game rules and regulations.Serves as an ambassador of the City of Steamboat Springs and upholds City values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Well-being, Respect and Compassion, while espousing safety at all times.
Various job duties include:
• Upholding all the league rules and act as the main liaison between team captains and players during games.
• Provide and implement league rules and expectations during each adult league game.
• Develop an understanding for league rules and expectations by attending all pre-season trainings.Knowledge of the game is preferred but not necessary. Pre-season trainings will assist in familiarity with the rules of the game.
Compensation range is $27.35 - $33.24/hour and placement within the range is dependent upon relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications.
