The City of Riverside, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for the position of Senior Human Resources Analyst to fill one (1) vacancy in the Classification/Compensation Division. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

For the current vacancy in the Classification/Compensation Division, the ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience in a Classification/Compensation role within a municipality; having conducted job analyses and salary surveys, created new job descriptions and updated current job descriptions, and compiled extensive and detailed reporting to be presented to City Council. 

Under general supervision, a Senior Human Resources Analyst will perform complex and difficult professional human resources work; will provide human resource expertise to City departments; will develop and conduct programs in the areas of: Recruitment and Selection; Classification and Compensation, Benefits; Organizational Development; Employee Labor Relations or other special programs; and will perform other related duties as required.
For the current vacancy in the Classification/Compensation Division, typical duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
  • Assist in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform a variety of complex and difficult administrative studies.
  • Participate in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned professional, para-professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
  • Administer the salary and classification plan; conduct complex classification and salary studies; develop class specifications; recommend classification and salary levels; communicate classification and salary determinations to City departments. 
  • Prepare a wide variety of complex reports, tables, charts, and graphs.
  •  Participate in special projects and training as assigned.
Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in public or business administration or a closely related field.
Two years of professional experience may be substituted for two years of the required education on a year for year basis.

Experience:
Three (3) years of professional human resources experience equivalent to a Human Resources Analyst with the City of Riverside. 
A Master's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a class/comp role within a government agency.
  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education obtained outside the United States (US) require one of the following options:

  1. An equivalency statement from an evaluation company certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at http://www.naces.org/members.html or the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc. (AICE) at http://aice-eval.org/members/.
  2. An advanced-level degree from an accredited US college or university.
