The City of Roanoke's Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I on our Trails & Greenways team! This is your opportunity to contribute to maintaining and enhancing the natural spaces that make our community vibrant.What You’ll DoAs a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our parks, trails, and recreational facilities. Your daily tasks will include: Cleaning park grounds, shelters, and restrooms.Removing debris and maintaining park amenities such as benches, tables, and courts.Performing general landscape maintenance, including light carpentry, concrete repairs, and painting.Operating and maintaining tools and equipment like blowers, weed eaters, power washers, and more.Assisting with special events by providing logistical support for setup and breakdown.Loading and unloading materials such as soil, mulch, and gravel.What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking someone with: A high school diploma or GED.1-3 years of experience in turf or landscape maintenance and operating medium-to-heavy motorized equipment.The ability to perform heavy manual labor safely and efficiently.A Class B Commercial Learner’s Permit and the commitment to obtain a full CDL license within 6-12 months.What We ValueAt the City of Roanoke, we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and teamwork.
