DescriptionThis position coordinates Library programs as assigned. This position provides direct library services to the general public; performs reference service at the youth desk; performs and oversees children's services workshops and programs; works with volunteers, community groups, and outside agencies.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Examples of Duties
Performs general library duties including but not limited to opening and closing procedures; troubleshoots computer issues; assists at the service desks.Participates in recruiting, training and supervising youth program volunteers.Serves as a program liaison to community groups and outside agencies; provides outreach services to the community; conducts tours of the library.Coordinates and oversees youth library programs, including ensuring proper staffing and scheduling.Establishes and maintains effective customer service for library patrons.Participates in work teams and committees as assigned.Experience and Training
Associates degree in Library Services, Early Childhood Education, Education or related degree. Additional work experience may substitute for education a year to year basis.Minimum of two years library services work experience required.Bilingual skills are beneficial
