What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at City of Round Rock?
Under limited supervision, the Accountant – Senior performs all duties related to the accounting management function for the Finance Department.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Manage and account for various city funds, projects and programs. This includes analyzing and maintaining complex financial models and cash flow projections and daily settlement of City's bank statements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management, council and other outside agencies.
Maintains information by communicating and working with outside consultants to analyze current & future revenue and cash requirements for the city; prepares and provides management information on financial trends. Reviews cash flow schedules for investment opportunities.
Maintains relationships with City departments, regional governmental entities, and other non-governmental entities in support of City projects and programs.
Reconciles various general ledger accounts; prepares and enters various related journal entries; prepares year-end reports for audit. Reconciles capital project funds monthly.
Assists with year-end audit; prepares year-end reports and schedules for ACFR; prepares year-end assets, calculates depreciation expense, and coordinates the annual inventory of assets.
Accounts for various debt service payments.
Assists with or performs special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- Minimum three years Finance or Accounting experience required.
- Knowledge of GAAP, accounting practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Valid driver's license.
