- Offer hands-on experience in public outreach, focusing on building relationships with the community and sharing important information about our services.
- Support our Community Engagement Team by attending community events often during evenings and weekends.
- Deliver information about SPRWS programs and answer customer questions.
- Promote key initiatives like water affordability, lead service line replacements, and educational campaigns. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a willingness to learn about our utility's operations.
- Engage with diverse audiences in a respectful and informative manner.
This role will work closely with the Marketing & PR Manager and Community Engagement Coordinator. The ideal candidate has sharp eye for design, attention to detail, strong storytelling skills, and the initiative to pitch creative ideas that align with our mission of keeping the community informed and engaged.
- Produce engaging content for social media, print materials, and public outreach campaigns.
- Designing dynamic brochures, flyers, presentations, and creating video reels for SPRWS' social platforms.
- Help establish and grow SPRWS’ presence on new social media channels.
- Gather content at community events often during evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in, or a willingness to learn photography, videography, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Canva is required.
- We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for design, attention to detail, strong storytelling skills, and the initiative to pitch creative ideas that align with our mission of keeping the community informed and engaged.
Anticipated start and end dates for these positions is mid-May through early September working 20 hours a week located at 1900 Rice Street, St Paul.

Communications Specialist and Engagement Intern:- Must maintain active student status for the duration of internship.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver's license or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
Content Development Intern:
Eligible candidates must be currently studying in the field of Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Advertising, Film and Media Studies, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Must maintain active student status for the duration of internship.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver's license or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
