What are the responsibilities and job description for the POOL MANAGER (RECREATION) Temp/Seasonal position at City of San Angelo Texas?

We are currently seeking:
A pool manager to join our team and, under general supervision of the Recreation Supervisors and Recreation Manager, will assist with daily operations of the pool and the supervision of pool staff. Performs a variety of daily maintenance duties including, but not limited to vacuuming, maintenance and repair of equipment, and management of hazardous chemicals for balancing pool water. Applicant must perform job duties in a way that promotes a positive image of the City of San Angelo, demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and delivers exemplary customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the aquatic facility in the absence of the Recreation Supervisor(s).
- Training, motivating, disciplining, and supervising all pool personnel.
- Coordinating schedules, lifeguard rotations, and lifeguard breaks; ensuring all shifts are covered.
- Attending and assisting in planning of all required staff meeting and in-service trainings.
- Opening/closing out register each day and making appropriate deposits.
- Assisting with completing accident and incident reports.
- Overseeing general facility maintenance and cleanliness including water balance, chemical regulation, filling pool, cleaning restrooms, office areas, pool, pool deck, pool yard, and pool equipment.
- Testing water quality and maintaining proper chemical balance in the swimming pool.
- Maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies.
- May be required to direct and instruct learn to swim classes.
- Monitoring and applying safety guidelines and proper rescue techniques to patrons in the aquatic facility.
- Administering first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures and notifying emergency medical personnel when necessary.
- Assisting in the daily operation of the Municipal Pool including but not limited to opening and closing of the facility, assisting guests, providing programming information, and collecting fees.
- Working in cooperation with the Recreation Supervisors and Recreation Manager.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, including weekends and holidays. Schedule could include up to 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours will vary from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Position is seasonal.

Requirements and Skills:
- Safety equipment.
- Water safety and lifesaving principles and practices.
- Swimming rescue and advanced first aid techniques including CPR and AED.
- Learn to Swim curriculum.
- Principles used in the operation and mechanics of a swimming pool.
- Operation of pool pumps, filtering equipment, and various components.
- Swimming pool chemicals and test kits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Pool management experience preferred.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard or Shallow Water Lifeguard certification required.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
- American Red Cross LGI preferred.
- NSPF Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) preferred.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed outdoors around, over, and in the water.
- Exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform strenuous duties for extended periods of time.
- Work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Must be able to pass physical test(s).
