Under general direction, is responsible for the operational supervision of commercial and residential development in-take and plan review. Resolves customer issues with commercial and residential development projects. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises supervision over assigned staff.

- Supervises the overall operation of commercial, residential and licensing activity at the One Stop Counter, including plan in-take, counter plan review, trade permits and other activities.
- Coordinates work activity of the commercial, residential and licensing counter staff with other sections.
- Oversees consultation services regarding the commercial and residential development process.
- Develops goals and objectives for the section.
- Oversees and transports residential and commercial construction plans to City storage facilities and Bexar County Records
- Meets with Customer Service/Community Link Center staff at various locations for monthly meetings, training, and audit processes
- Performs various administrative functions and other assigned duties.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of experience processing or supervising development related projects.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Must obtain International Code Council (ICC) Certification as a Permit Technician within one (1) year of employment.
- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- General knowledge of City Code, Local Government Code, and one or more construction codes.
- Advanced knowledge of the current adopted Unified Development Code (UDC).
