Salary range for this classification is $114,463.44 - $139,448.40.
This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

The Division is recruiting for a Senior Analyst to join the team of five Senior Analysts and ten Analysts who act as Business Partners to client departments ensuring that their Employment needs (recruitment, selection, and classification) are met.
Senior Analysts report to the Division Manager and are each responsible for developing and implementing strategies to meet the recruitment and classification needs of their assigned departments and for direct supervision and coordination of workload for two – three Analysts. Employment Analysts are responsible for recruiting qualified applicants by developing and administering valid selection processes and for conducting classification projects such as individual position studies, new job class development and class specification revision.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for recruitment and selection to develop innovative, creative solutions for timely and effective recruitment processes. The position requires strong ability to build effective working relationships with all City Departments and with other key stakeholders within the City of San Jose organizational structure and to represent the City to applicants, both internal and external. Possession of a strong customer service perspective, excellent organizational skills, judgement, and attention to detail are critical.

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in general management/administrative analytic work in the areas of budget, finance, grant administration, organizational analysis, general administration, human resources, or related field in general analytical work.
3. Acceptable Substitutions: One (1) year of additional education above the Bachelor’s Degree level may be substituted for one year of the required management/administrative analytic work.

Selection Process
The selection process will consist of an evaluation of the applicant's training and experience based on the application and responses to the job specific questions.
