What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advisory Body - Active Transportation Committee Member position at City of San Luis Obispo?
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION ON A CITY ADVISORY BODY
Annual recruitment is open through Sunday, January 26, 2025. Interviews will be scheduled following close of recruitment. On April 1, 2025, City Council will make final appointments during their Regular Meeting and terms will begin immediately. Applicants that meet minimum qualifications will remain on file for one year and will be considered if unscheduled vacancies occur.
There are currently two positions available, both with incumbents eligible for reappointment.
The Active Transportation Committee (ATC) provides oversight and policy direction on matters related to bicycle transportation and pedestrian transportation in San Luis Obispo and its relationship to bicycling and walking outside the city. There are two positions available for appointment, with incumbents eligible to apply.
Meetings are held at least quarterly. The meetings are generally held the third Thursday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September and November) at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room, City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, California.

The Active Transportation Committee shall have seven members appointed by the City Council to staggered terms of four years. Any Committee member may be reappointed, provided no appointee serves more than two consecutive four-year terms. A member who has served two consecutive four-year terms can be reappointed after a one-year absence from the Committee.
Members must be residents and registered voters of the City.
