THE CITYis focused on enhancing our community members' quality of life through well-designed services and a positive workplace culture
- Plan, organize, review, evaluate, and personally perform activities to implement a variety of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery programs and procedures under the NIMS/SEMS/ICS models.
- Support the development and maintenance of a variety of planning documents, including but not limited to the Hazard Mitigation Plan, Wildfire Action Plan, the Emergency Operations Plan, hazard specific playbooks, and EOC Handbook.
- Address the needs and inquiries of residents in a compassionate, articulate and reasonable manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of public awareness programs, training, drills, and exercises.
- Participates in community development and engagement events to promote emergency preparedness, wildfire awareness, and response best practices.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and training of EOC staff.
- Development and implementation of budgets for OES.
- Assist community, volunteer, educational or other public and private groups with emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduationfrom an accredited high school or equivalent (GED)
- The ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is preferred
In addition to the above, any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, abilities, and skill for the applicable level, found on the job spec.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees will be issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and is responsible for using the proper PPE in the appropriate environment. Examples of PPE may include a hardhat, hearing protection while in noisy environments, eye protection, and safety shoes.

- MEDICAL | City group health coverage, with the City paying a fixed dollar amount toward the cost of the monthly insurance premium: Employee only: $950.00 | Employee plus one: $1,900.00 | Family: $2,400.00
- DENTAL | Premium fully paid for employee plus eligible dependents.

- VACATION LEAVE | 10 days annually, increases after 3 years of service

- Tier 2 - hired on or after 7/1/2011: 2% @ 55, Average of 3 highest years
- Tier 3 PEPRA - hired on or after 1/1/2013: 2% @ 62, Average of 3 highest years
- GYM MEMBERSHIP REIMBURESEMENT | Up to $198 per year
- BILINGUAL PAY (if eligible) | Up to $250 per month
