Duties
- Review and approve building plans and specifications to ensure compliance with zoning laws and building codes.
- Conduct inspections of construction sites to monitor compliance with regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and engineers to facilitate project approvals.
- Prepare reports on building permit applications, inspections, and zoning variances.
- Utilize GIS tools such as ArcGIS and ArcView for mapping and analysis related to zoning issues.
- Assist with economic development initiatives by assessing the impact of proposed projects on the community.
- Assist in the development of urban planning strategies that align with community goals.
- Manage project scheduling to ensure timely completion of inspections and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of permits issued, inspections conducted, and violations noted.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and land use policies.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, ArcView) for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Excellent report writing skills to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
