Description / Duties & Responsibilities

The Newhall Community Center (NCC) has multiple part-time / seasonal (PTS) positions available to work directly with youth during NCC's summer, winter, and spring camps.
NCC's camps provide youth and teens ages 5 to 17 with opportunities to recreate during school breaks. Camps are filled with games and a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, field trips, water games, and more! Both youth and staff return year after year each season because of the feeling of tradition, community, and belonging that they experience each year.
This is a great job for someone who enjoys working with kids, being creative, and making a difference!
This position may work up to 40 hours per week based on the needs of the program; Monday through Friday shifts between 7 : 30 a.m. and 7 : 00 p.m. Specialty Camps in 2024 will run as followed :
Spring Camp : April 7-11
Summer Camp : June 9-August 8
Winter Camp : December 22-January 9

In addition, part-time, temporary, and seasonal (PTS) employees may be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program. This program authorizes the City to receive a driver record report upon enrollment and during employment.
Part-time, temporary, and seasonal (PTS) workers are at-will. Generally, PTS employees are limited to no more than 999 hours.
