REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field including or supplemented by at least 24 semester credit hours in Accounting and ONE (1) YEAR of full-time paid experience in accounting involving the use of computerized general ledger packages; OR
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree Accounting, Business Administration or a related field including or supplemented by at least 24 semester credit hours in Accounting and TWO (2) YEARS of full-time paid experience in accounting involving the use of computerized general ledger packages; OR
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Business Administration or a related field including or supplemented by at least 24 semester credit hours in Accounting and FOUR (4) YEARS of full-time paid experience in accounting involving the use of computerized general ledger packages.
DUTIES:
- The work involves responsibility for assisting the Executive Director of the Housing Authority by performing various administrative and support duties but not limited to, fiscal accounts and reports, maintaining a detailed database on Housing Authority projects, updating and/or establishing office policies and procedures and providing general information to the public.
- The incumbent completes financial transactions, payroll procedures, installation and maintenance of accounting system, and preparation of reports and fiscal analysis.
- The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Executive Director with leeway for independent judgment. Supervision may be exercised over other office departmental financial and administrative functions.
- The incumbent does related work as required.
