Seaside Fire & Rescue is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as Beach Lifeguards . If you are passionate about ocean safety, emergency response, and public service, this is your chance to make a difference on Seaside's beautiful coastline.
Position Overview
As a Beach Lifeguard, you will be responsible for patrolling the Seaside beach area on foot and via vehicle, responding to emergencies, performing water rescues, and educating the public on beach and ocean safety. You will work closely with Fire Department personnel and other lifeguards, often serving as the first responder to emergencies until additional support arrives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor designated sections of the beach and ocean for hazards and distressed swimmers.
- Conduct water rescues and provide First Aid, CPR, and other medical assistance as needed.
- Educate beachgoers on ocean safety and local regulations.
- Maintain radio communication with fellow lifeguards, Seaside Fire & Rescue, and Seaside Dispatch.
- Enforce Seaside Municipal ordinances and Oregon Parks beach regulations.
- Assist in maintaining lifeguard vehicles, equipment, and beach facilities.
- Participate in training exercises and maintain physical readiness for emergency situations.

Examples include public works employees, police officers, 9-1-1 operators, and lifeguards.
