About the Position
This position reports to the City of SeaTac’s Police Services. Under the direction of assigned supervisor, performs routine duties associated with parking compliance and parking enforcement throughout the City. Interacts directly with the public to ensure parking compliance and to improve and enhance public relations. This position is overtime eligible and a member of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit.
- Administers the City Permit Parking Program through administrative tracking of issued permits; provides customer service to program participants. E
- Promotes parking compliance in the City through enforcement of parking regulations, restrictions, and municipal code, either in an assigned vehicle or on foot. E
- Used chalk tire-marking device to mark parked vehicles in time-limited parking areas; patrols areas to ensure vehicles have been removed. Uses two-way police mobile radio. E
- Prepares and issues parking citations to violators of the City’s parking regulations, restrictions, and municipal codes. E
- Sorts, arranges, tracks and files parking citations and other records, using department prescribed manners and methodologies. E

- High school graduate or equivalent. Associate degree or college coursework in Law Enforcement preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience; prior experience in a law enforcement agency preferred.
OR
- A combination of education, training and experience that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License required by date of appointment.
A satisfactory three-year driving abstract record, submitted prior to hire.
Must pass a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) compliant background check through the Sheriff’s Office, process includes a polygraph examination.
