Position Description
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has an exciting opportunity to for a [Interim Temporary (external) or Out-of-Class (internal)] candidate to support our RainWise program as a RainWise Program Manager. Our RainWise Program engages Seattle participants to install rain gardens and cisterns on private property in order to capture stormwater and help keep our rivers, lakes, and Puget Sound clean.
This position works with a team of others in Seattle Public Utilities, King County, and our partner organizations. The position plays an important role in keeping the program running efficiently and providing good customer service to program participants, site inspectors, and the contractors who install rain gardens and cisterns.
This Temporary (external)/OOC (internal) position is expected to last up to 6-months and is open to all regular City of Seattle employees, as well as external candidates. External candidates will be considered non-benefitted and will receive premium pay in lieu of benefits.

Primary Job Responsibilities for OOC or TEMP RainWise Program Manager role:
Duties
Manage and oversee RainWise Program which works in partnership with King County to install green stormwater infrastructure on private (primarily residential) property at high enough levels to protect water quality and reduce impacts of SPU infrastructure. Duties include:
Qualifications
Experience: Requires three (3) years of experience in planning and research related to land use, urban economics, human services, environmental issues, conservation; or other work directly related to City planning and development activities;
Education: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Design, Environmental Studies, Public Administration or related field OR, if no degree two (2) additional years of relevant experience.
Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.

The full salary range for this position is $54.38 per hour - $51.90 per hour [for OOC consideration].
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Design, Environmental Studies, Public Administration or related field OR, if no degree two (2) additional years of relevant experience.

You will be successful in this role if you have some, or all of the following:
- You have a passion for strong customer support.
- You have some background knowledge of rain gardens and cisterns as a tool to control stormwater.
