Scope of Work: An Enrichment Instructor is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate enrichment activities for the participants. This role involves working with people of various ages to foster their personal, social, and educational development or goals through recreational programs.Key Responsibilities: Design and implement a variety of enrichment programs, including arts and crafts, sports, music, STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), health and wellness and other enrichment activities.Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants.Encourage positive social interactions and teamwork.Develop lesson plans and materials that cater to diverse learning styles and interests.Monitor and evaluate the progress and participation of program attendees.Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, participants and City staff about goals and progress.Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and organizational guidelines.Work Schedule: Approximately 2-10 hours per week: Example of schedule (Sept. – June): Tuesday, Thursday 9:00am – 11:00am, Wednesday 4:00pm - 6:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-12:00pmSummer Hours Vary.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plan and Lead Activities: Develop and conduct daily and weekly activity plans that include arts and crafts, physical activities, educational games, and other enrichment activities.Supervision: Oversee children during activities, ensuring their safety and engagement. Manage group dynamics to promote a positive and inclusive environment.Instruction: Teach new skills related to the activities, provide guidance, and encourage participation and creativity.Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of programs through feedback and observation, making adjustments as necessary to improve program quality.Collaboration: Work with other staff to coordinate activities and resources. Participate in program planning.Administrative Tasks: Maintain records of attendance, incidents, and participant progress. Prepare reports and communicate with parents or guardians as needed.Interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly and supportive manner.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Conditions Of Employment: All candidates will be required to establish employment authorization and identity at the time of hire. The City is not able to sponsor work visas.All positions require the completion of references checks, including at least one prior supervisor.This position requires completion of a criminal background check prior to start employment.Working Environment: Community center/indoor facility with a large volume of costumers, noisy environment. Physical Conditions: Position requires standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; heavy or moderate lifting and carrying; repeated bending.
