DESCRIPTION

The City of Shoreview is accepting applications for a Manager on Duty position to work in our active Community Center. This is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors to our facility each year. The Community Center has several banquet & meeting rooms, a fireside lounge reception area, two full-size gyms, two fitness studios, a running/walking track, fitness center, Tropics indoor water park, child care center, locker rooms and much more. Our Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of classes throughout the facility as well.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Coordinate day-to-day activities in the Community Center
- Provide information and assistance to guests and staff including addressing customer concerns and complaints
- Interpret and enforce Community Center rules for patrons and staff
- Supervise Community Center staff, write daily reports, cash handling, assist in scheduling unfilled shifts
- Assist with memberships including providing tours, answering questions and signing up memberships
- Complete room set-ups including tables, chairs, technology, etc.
- Perform in accordance with appropriate safety & security procedures
- Arrive on time for shift
- Maintain timesheet with accurate number of hours worked
- Find substitute to work shift if a planned absence is necessary
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One year customer service experience
- Six months supervisory experience or six months Shoreview Community Center Guest Services experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
- Managerial experience
- Additional customer service experience
- Additional supervisory experience
- Current CPR & First Aid certifications
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle report
OTHER
This is a PART-TIME position. Hours are based on business needs and applicants' availability.
Generally, Community Center Hours are : Monday - Friday 5 am - 9 pm; Saturday & Sunday 6 am - 8 pm.
In addition, we are open 364 days a year with limited hours on holidays including Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. We are closed on Christmas Day.
