What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Coordinator position at City of Shreveport, LA?
Class Title
Assists event clients in the planning and facilitation of festivals and programs that occur on city property.
Duties
1. Assigns work to subordinates.
2. Assists visitors and telephone callers; works the events to guarantee quality implementation and service.
3. Coordinates service and facility requirements with supervisory and other personnel engaged in police and fire protection, catering and related services and in housekeeping, electrical, and mechanical maintenance tasks.
4. Fosters partnerships with event organizers; performs analysis of operating procedures as it relates to event planning and facilitation.
5. Orders supplies; secures insurance, licenses and binding contracts for events.
6. Collects money from promoters, group leaders and vendors at scheduled events.
7. Reviews and drafts correspondence and reports for supplies and materials. Oversees maintenance of files and records.
8. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1). High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
2). Ability to manage public building or buildings, which equates to six (6) years of
training and experience in management and supervision.
3). Ability to plan, initiate and execute approved policies and procedures; verbal
and numerical facility; and ability to maintain harmonious relationships with the
public and among subordinates.
4). Valid state vehicle operator's license.
5). Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
2. Will be required to move up to 25 pounds to perform job and walk from job site to job site.
3. Must be able to communicate clearly and properly, and properly identify color.

3. May work during inclement weather and heated conditions.
Physical Demands
Travel will be required locally from location to location to accomplish job assignments and visit job sites.
