This is a senior-level position in the Field Operations Division.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Meter Shop assignment will drive the vans to transport meter readers to and from their assigned cycle and route. In this capacity, employee will assist the supervisor as required for the planning of daily activities, loading and unloading of equipment and materials and other duties as required. This employee will supervise the meter readers assigned to them and may be required to read meters using a hand held processor. This will include quality control for accurate and consistent reading of meters. Plants/Sewer Lift assignment will lead and direct work teams; plan for construction projects; prepare plans for future facility needs; implements improved operational and mechanical procedures. May perform or oversee the performance of the following duties: troubleshoots operational and mechanical issues; performs preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment; performs reactive maintenance as required; picks up equipment parts from vendors; installs, repairs or replaces functional parts and components; routinely inspects plant equipment and facilities; washes down and cleans out basins as required; adds grease and oil to pumps; replaces air filters; operates radio; completes work orders and basic forms; performs and maintains housekeeping standards; understands basic electrical safety; operates forklift, weed-eater, and tractor/bush hog; repairs fences and wooden structures. All Maintenance Specialist III's will be able to perform any of the tasks required of a Maintenance Specialist I or II employee and may be called upon to do so if required. Requisitions parts and supplies. Ensures that work teams observe allsafety requirements. Completes or assist in documenting work orders, basic forms and employee evaluations. Interacts with customers. Responsible for maintenance of buildings and grounds. Responsible for fueling rental pumps. Responsible for maintaining inventory of assigned tools & equipment, as well as proper operation, care and security of assigned items for performing work assigned and reporting needed repairs and loss of equipment and tools. Demonstrates knowledge and use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and related documentation procedures. Initiates work orders. Maintains job safety standards (personal protection equipment, etc.); complies with City of Shreveport vehicle safety rules; trains new team members on safe work practices. Regularly attends required safety, job related and certification training classes as required. Subject to be on call 24/7. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
