What are the responsibilities and job description for the PART-TIME AIRPORT FUELER/WORKER FIRE SEASON position at City of Sierra Vista?
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION
Under general supervision of the Transportation Administrator, performs aircraft fueling, greets pilots and provides customer service support for Airport activities and services, and functions at the FLSA status: Non-Exempt.

Monitors and communicates using the Airport UNICOM radio frequency. Maintains professional contact with the public, Airport tenants and businesses. Greets pilots, answers questions, and develops superior customer relations. Takes service orders for fueling, refuels aircraft, and processes sales tickets with the use of the Point of Sale machine. Maintains fueling records, as required, with the use of a computer. Monitors fuel deliveries and accepts or declines fuel, as quality assurance procedures and findings dictate.
Directs aircraft to parking by use of hand signals. Operates radios and other communication equipment. Performs daily fuel quality assurance procedures on fuel farm and refuel trucks. Cleans and performs routine daily checks of refuel trucks. Conducts daily security checks around the Airport, as required.
Maintains apron and taxiway areas to keep them clear of weeds and foreign debris. Performs custodial duties and minor maintenance, as required, in Airport buildings. Performs ground maintenance duties, as required, on Airport owned property.
Performs on-call duty, as required, to support Airport service activities after hours.

- Learn and understand aviation occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Learn and understand how to relay information to pilots and local air traffic by radio
- Work effectively with others
- Work with and around fuels and other hazardous material
- Climb ladders and steps, and bend or stoop repeatedly over time
- Lift up to seventy (70) pounds
- Push or Pull up to seventy (70) Pounds
A high school diploma or GED.
Current driver's license required. Must obtain Arizona driver license upon hire.
