What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance, Parks position at City Of Siloam?
The incumbent performs a variety of tasks in maintaining the City parks in a safe, clean, and well-groomed manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
- General maintenance of City parks, and sports fields including mowing and edging.
- Daily trash collection and cleaning of public restrooms located in City parks.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any unsafe and inappropriate situations to the Parks Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with traffic control for special events.
- Assist the Street Department in inclement weather or emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education equivalent (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to rate, ration and percent, draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
