Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team); and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
2.Perform lawn mowing; trimming and edging.
3.Operate brush hog and specialty mowing equipment.
4.Perform weeding and watering of landscape areas.
5.Plant landscape areas as directed.
6.Trim trees and shrubs.
7.Act as crew leader for small landscape crew.
8.Perform general maintenance duties as directed.
9. Mosquito maintenance.
10. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES
None Indicated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES; LICENSES; REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License. Master Gardener certification or equivalent training/experience preferred.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Daily contact with citizens and business owners and representatives. As needed contact with Rodeo Board members.
EMPLOYEE CONTACT
Daily contact with all Public Works employees. Weekly contact with Police; Fire; and Parks and Recreation Departments.
USE OF MACHINES; EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Must be proficient in the use of a work truck; tools; and various maintenance equipment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Experience installing and maintaining landscape projects is preferred.
