Job Standards
The Lincoln Library is seeking an individual to work with all library departments to develop effective ways to inform the public about library services. Responsible for the Lincoln Library’s social media presence. Create content, ensure consistency in library communications, and direct overall social media strategy in conjunction with the library Director. Compose and edit the library newsletter with input from other library departments. Maintain familiarity with library services and programs. Coordinate public communications to give the library a consistent brand. Maintain positive relationships with media contacts; fields and/or directs media inquiries; develop and distribute press releases. Monitor promotions budget and create and maintain statistical reporting on all activities. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. Minimum of three years professional library or nonprofit experience strongly preferred. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
