Position Purpose/Summary
Responsible for supporting all aspects of Springfield Health Services for the Homeless Health Center (HSH Health Center) clinical software programs. Serves as a liaison between IT vendors and HSH Health Center EMR Core Committee to provide electronic medical record EMR implementation and maintenance, hands-on configuration and end user support. Configures EMR functions to support care processes (including documentation, ordering, reporting, alerts and notification actions). Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Commissioner. No supervision is exercised over other employees.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the EMR eClinicalWorks, EMR & PM systems subject matter expert for all practice management operations.
- Format, design, and build relevant content for online forms, mapping data collection and clinical workflows documentation.
- Identify data integrity issues and make recommendations.
- Suggests and implements solutions for the EMR platform.
- Performs interface mapping for demographic, appointments, charges, and software interfaces to ensure accurate data flow between multiple systems.
- Performs mapping of clinical data to ACO requirements pertaining to Population Health.
- Coordinate and provide EMR training to staff on an ongoing basis.
- Work with HSH Health Center Billing Specialists on coding issues and participate on coding improvement initiatives.
- Attend QI Committee meetings and assist on quality improvement projects.
- Facilitate the coordination, collection, and analysis of process and outcome data, for frequent reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as needed.

- Ability to work closely with other IT staff/vendor to ensure that network, system, security, and regulatory concerns are properly addressed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Information Technology or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in system analysis related to clinical applications; OR any equivalent combination of seven (7) years.
- Experience working in a technical role with practice management systems and electronic medical records.
- Experience with healthcare operations, including a basic understanding of different departments and their role in healthcare delivery.
