The Saint Paul Fire Department is hiring a HR Consultant I to support the HR team with a variety of administrative and operational tasks to support employee functions. We are seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented person who is eager to learn and grow their professional career with the City!
Here’s what you can expect to do:- Day to day management and track tracking of employees leave to include legal compliance, policy enforcement, reporting and analytics, auditing, recordkeeping, and communications with employees, supervisors, and third-party administrators.
- Enter First Report of Injury and maintain workability forms and maintain required log.
- Help manage employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance forms are completed.
- Assist with recruitment needs, including scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Maintain accurate employee records and files in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment and answering employee questions about health benefits, leave, and other benefits.
- Help manage and track employee performance reviews and provide administrative support for performance management process.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and general support as needed.

Position Requirements
Requirements may be met by one of the following:
- Four years of work experience performing duties related to Human Resources functions.
- An Associate’s Degree can be substituted for two years of experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree can be substituted for four years of experience.
