About the Position
The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is hiring individuals to perform manual labor collecting garbage, bulky items, yard waste and maintaining garbage and recycling carts.
Here’s what you can expect to do:
- Deliver recycling carts to new customers, transporting recycling from residence, and returning repaired recycling carts to customers.
- Collect garbage, bulky items, yard waste at residential properties, and trash removal from the public right-of-way.
- Clean and repair garbage and recycling carts and maintain inventory.
- Operate and perform daily inspections and maintenance on trucks, gasoline powered, and electric tools.
- Use electronic field data management tools as needed.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather.

- Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- Nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency work may be required.

Position Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class B or Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restriction for airbrakes. The CDL must have no suspensions or revocations for driving related offenses during the two-year period prior to the date of appointment. Suspensions for parking related offenses are excluded.
Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing after hire.
