Job Summary The City of St. Peters is seeking a passionate and creative Art Specialist (Writing) to lead engaging writing programs within our instructional art camp. This role is responsible for developing curriculum, overseeing program activities, and fostering a supportive environment for aspiring writers. Mandatory training for instructors and councilor will take place on May 22-23, and 27th-31st. Camp sessions run from July 28 through August 1, 2025.
Normal Shift: Monday- Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and implement writing-focused programs aligned with camp objectives and City policies.
- Design and lead writing workshops, encouraging creativity and skill development in various literary forms.
- Establish and enforce safety and risk management procedures for participants, staff, and equipment.
- Set and uphold standards for program operations, customer service, and participant engagement.
- Supervise and coordinate daily writing program activities.
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures for participants.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with staff, participants, and families.
- Ensure compliance with City safety standards and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- Bachelor of Arts Degree in related field, and two (2) years of applicable experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) year experience working with children.
