What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Site Inspector position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is skilled, technical field inspection and code enforcement work in securing and maintaining regulatory compliance with municipal and other applicable codes and ordinances governing required site, drainage, maintenance, urban tree management, and urban landscaping for commercial and residential building sites. An employee in this class performs field inspections at construction sites for compliance with applicable landscaping, tree protection, and environmental preservation ordinances and regulations; prepares and maintains records and written reports of findings and initiates correspondence and violation notices and ordering that appropriate remedial action be taken; and maintains knowledge and awareness of regulatory changes and trends in the inspection and enforcement field.
Salary: $25.15 - $35.08 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Possess and maintain a Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) or obtain the certification within six (6) months of appointment to the position.
- Possess progressive contractor experience in building or site construction, environmental field inspection, or in building or site construction support for permitting.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred applicants:
- Possess an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Arborist Certification.
