What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pavement Maintenance Leadworker position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is lead supervisory work participating in the construction, maintenance and repair of municipal surface facilities including, but not limited to, streets, sidewalks, and curbs. Work includes supervision of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled maintenance personnel and participation in the selection, placement, promotion, training, safety and discipline of those subordinate personnel. An employee in this class plans, organizes, schedules, assigns, and assists employees, including providing technical expertise and on-the-job training; estimates and arranges for material and equipment requirements; and maintains work time and material records for assigned projects. This position requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment based upon experience and technical knowledge.
Salary: $23.71 - $33.30 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL) with "N" endorsement.
- Have considerable progressive experience in construction, pavement and roadway repair and maintenance, including, progressive experience in the use of related light-to-heavy duty type vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Have knowledge of materials, methods and techniques commonly used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal surface facilities including streets, sidewalks, and curbs.
- Be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred applicants:
- Are able to prepare routine reports and maintain records.
- Have good working knowledge of basic computer systems.
